54. . . Previous: 22nd. Philadelphia Eagles. 23. team

Before the fourth quarter, it seemed as though it was time to completely give up on the Philadelphia Eagles. They were being bullied by the Baltimore Ravens and a 17-0 halftime deficit had turned into a 24-6 fourth-quarter lead for the road team. Then, Carson Wentz and the Eagles started to turn things around.

Wentz hit Jason Croom for a three-yard touchdown and they answered back-to-back Justin Tucker field goals with a Travis Fulgham touchdown catch and a Wentz one-yard touchdown run. That score made it 30-28 with 1:55 to go, but a failed two-point conversion ended up ending things for the Eagles.

They were unable to get the onside kick and dropped to 1-4-1 on the season. While they still lost the game, there was a lot to take away from this one. Philly refused to give up and Wentz had a great fourth quarter. And while their record seems insurmountable, they are in the worst division in the NFL as the Dallas Cowboys are leading as of Monday morning with a record of 2-3.

It’s so bad that even if Dallas loses on Monday Night Football, they will be the first place team in the division. And with the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, and New York Giants again being on the schedule for them over the next three games, they could make some real progress as long as they keep fighting as hard as they did in this fourth quarter.
