NFL Power Rankings, Week 7: Steelers, Buccaneers make emphatic leap

Coming into the 2020 NFL Season, the Jacksonville Jaguars were supposed to be the worst team in the NFL as they were the favorites to land Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Then, they won in Week 1 and nearly did so again in Week 2.

Now, we know that’s not exactly the case as Michael DiRocco of ESPN says the impressive early-season performance was a lot of smoke and mirrors as the Jaguars are in play to be the worst team in the NFL this season.

It didn’t look that way after the first two weeks after beating Indianapolis in the season opener and playing Tennessee tight in Nashville, where they’ve struggled to keep games close.” — DiRocco, ESPN"

Jacksonville is now 1-5 as they were defeated easily in Week 6 by the Detroit Lions by a score of 34-16. The ground game was key on either side as the Lions went for 180 yards and three touchdowns while running the ball whereas the Jaguars managed only 44 yards on 16 carries.

There’s not a lot to be excited about for Jacksonville and even if they get Lawrence, the question then turns to who will help him. Because this roster isn’t inspiring a lot of confidence.
