Detroit Lions bold predictions for a Week 7 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.

The Detroit Lions stay on the road as they head to Georgia to take on Atlanta in Week 7. The Lions are coming off a comprehensive win against Jacksonville and are looking to build momentum as they head into a stretch of games that will define their season. It is another must-win game for Matt Patricia and his team to meet the ownership target of playing meaningful games in December.

But it will not be easy. Yes, the Falcons are 1-5 and they are not an elite team. However, Atlanta does possess a slew of select weapons on offense that will stress the Detroit defense. With Julio Jones getting back to full health and the ever-improving Calvin Ridley, the Lions defense will be busy as Matt Ryan has his two best receivers ready.

Patricia came to the Motor City as the genius defensive coordinator of the New England dynasty. So far, we have yet to see it consistently though last week was a start. They now need to build on this.

Although, as good as the Falcons offense will be, they are 1-5 for a reason, and this defense will give the Detroit Lions enough opportunities to put points on the board. With Matthew Stafford not having yet caught fire and attack downfield, this feels like the opportune moment to change that.

The Falcons defense has its problems, particularly against the pass, as they have shown no ability to cover receivers and tight ends. With the offense at full health and the fact, they are playing in a dome should suit this offense and Stafford.

With all that said, this is going to be a challenging game. Both teams have strengths, but they also have debilitating weaknesses that make them flawed. It will be very close and exciting to watch for the neutral, and here are three bold predictions for a game that could get crazy in a hurry.
