DraftKings best Week 7 values: Defense/Special Teams

The Buffalo Bills (BUF at NYJ, $4,700) are a must-start against the New York Jets, right? Not if it means spending a small fortune on the position instead of getting the likes of Alvin Kamara and DeAndre Hopkins into lineups.

In all fairness, there aren’t many enticing options out there this week. The Kansas City Chiefs (KC at DEN, $4,300), who square off against a rusty Drew Lock in the snow, are likewise expensive. So, if you can spare the change, both of these teams are slam dunks in terms of expected points.

The New England Patriots (NE vs. SF, $3,900) offer a more palatable price tag and, if you think we’re nuts for starting Gardner Minshew this week, perhaps the Los Angeles Chargers (LAC vs. JAX, $3,400) are for you. The same logic applies for those who can’t bring themselves to the idea of Kyle Allen being a viable DFS start: the Dallas Cowboys (DAL at WAS, $3,000) will surely find their way into many lineups this weekend.

From the bargain bin, we’d take a chance on the Cleveland Browns (CLE at CIN, $2,800) against the Joe Mixon-less Cincinnati Bengals, a team led by a blue-chip rookie quarterback who has shown signs of mortality of late.

We also wouldn’t say no to the idea of using leftover salary cap dregs on the Carolina Panthers (CAR at NO, $2,900); with the Saints are missing their two top wide receivers and Drew Brees showing his age of late, they’re a flyer worth taking in the under $3,000 range.
