Green Bay Packers: Studs and duds from Week 7 vs. Texans
Green Bay Packers studs and duds after a dominant bounce-back win over Houston.
The Green Bay Packers came into a marquee matchup with the Buccaneers one week ago with an unblemished record and their chests puffed out on the heels of that kind of start. But after getting smacked in the mouth by Tampa and suffering a blowout loss for their first defeat of the season, Aaron Rodgers and the Pack were clearly humbled.
So when they came out in their Week 7 road tilt against the Houston Texans, no one should’ve been surprised that it was all business for Green Bay. Rodgers said after the loss to the Bucs that he and his team needed a “kick in the a–“ and they clearly got what they needed. The Packers jumped out to a 21-0 lead going into halftime against Houston and then cruised to the 35-20 win.
While some may say that Green Bay should’ve kept their foot on the gas more in the second half, they did everything they needed to in a dominant effort. On both sides of the ball, the Packers were able to control the action, forcing Deshaun Watson to make pressured throws thanks to the defensive front while doing virtually whatever they wanted when they had possession.
Now 5-1 on the 2020 NFL season, the Packers moved back into looking the part of a potential contender in the NFC. Yes, there will still be questions if they can’t beat teams like the Bucs or other top-end teams in the conference. However, emphatic wins like this one are the type of games that continue to raise optimism and Green Bay.
It’s mostly good vibes coming out of Titletown after the Week 7 win but there were a few unimpressive performances. We’ll take a look at all of it as we highlight the Green Bay Packers studs and duds from their win over the Texans on Sunday.
