The Buccaneers have two wins in a row and both have been in impressive fashion.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won their second straight game in Week 7 with a road win against the Las Vegas Raiders. The two wins are the best two-game stretch the team has had thus far in the 2020 NFL season. On Sunday, we saw the version of Tom Brady we are used to seeing which, just in time for Halloween, is a scary thing for the rest of the NFL.

The Buccaneers were able to gain 454 yards on Sunday in a game where the offense was needed to help close the game out. Brady accounted for 370 of those yards with 369 coming through the air.

Tampa’s running game was not as good as it has looked at times, but the passing game more than made up for it. More importantly, the offense only had one penalty in this game. Furthermore, the offense did not commit any turnovers for the second week in a row.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are finding their place as an NFC powerhouse.

These past two games have shown the team what it can do when they aren’t hurting themselves with negative plays. The lack of turnovers and penalties has helped the offense stay away from near impossible down and distance situations.

Defensively, the team committed three turnovers including two to help keep a drive active for the Raiders. The Raiders eventually capitalized by scoring on the drive so it does leave room for improvement.

Against Las Vegas, the Buccaneers did what their defense does. They shut down the run and tried to pressure the quarterback. The Buccaneers held the Raiders to only 76 yards rushing. Raiders’ star running back Josh Jacobs only had 17 yards on 10 carries. This was the second week in a row the defense has been able to completely lock down a star running back. This is important with Alvin Kamara in the Saints coming up in two weeks.

The defense was also able to get three sacks on quarterback Derek Carr while also compiling five quarterback hits. Although the defense was not perfect on Sunday, they did manage to force Carr into an interception when the game was still in doubt. They did give up two touchdowns to Carr, but they were able to make a play when the team needed it which is what championship teams do.

The Buccaneers are starting to show what they can do on both sides of the ball. They have looked great and have played with much more discipline since the team’s stumble against the Bears on Thursday Night Football.

With the Giants up next, there is no reason to think they will not be riding a three-game winning streak when the Saints come to town in two weeks on Sunday Night Football. With a win against New Orleans, the team can further establish itself as a power team in both the NFC and the NFL.
