The Dallas Cowboys need a quarterback and Jameis Winston is the best one out there on the trade block.

It’s been a rough season for the Dallas Cowboys, who are coming off an embarrassing blowout loss to the Washington Football Team. Be that as it may, whoever wins the NFC East is not only in the playoffs, but they get to host a playoff game as well. As bad as the Cowboys are, the division is equally as bad and they still have a chance to make the playoffs.

If the Cowboys want that to happen, they’re going to have to trade for a quarterback. Andy Dalton was injured in last week’s loss and now it’s up to Ben DiNucci to win games for the ‘Boys. Dallas needs to add a quarterback and if they decide to do so, Jameis Winston of the New Orleans Saints is the best option right now.

Winston is a former No. 1 overall pick by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2015 and didn’t become their franchise quarterback during his time there. He signed with the Saints this offseason on a one-year deal and the Saints have both Drew Brees and Taysom Hill still on their roster.

If the Cowboys came calling for Winston’s services, it feels like that’d be tough for the Saints to say no to, considering they could get some sort of draft compensation in return.

Jameis Winston could be the missing piece for the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys have a terrible defense, but their offense was able to keep up with other teams when Dak Prescott was at the helm. That won’t be the case with Dalton or DiNucci, but Winston has shown he’s capable of putting on a fireworks show offensively.

He’d have tremendous weapons in Dallas too with Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup and CeeDee Lamb as his receivers and Ezekiel Elliott as his running back.

The only thing to keep in mind here is that the Saints might opt to hold onto Winston in case they want him to be their next quarterback after Brees retires. If they decide to part ways with Winston though, the Cowboys would be the best suitors for him because it won’t take much to win the division and Winston is capable of competing in shootouts.

This is a move the Dallas Cowboys need to at least inquire about. The NFC East isn’t out of reach, but they’re not going to win the division with Dalton or DiNucci. Make the call for Jameis Winston, Jerry Jones.
