Green Bay Packers receiver Davante Adams could break some records in Week 8 against the Vikings.

The Green Bay Packers will host the Minnesota Vikings at Lambeau Field on Sunday in a Week 8 divisional matchup. The Packers offense should have little issues against a weak Vikings defense — especially in the passing game — which could pave the way for a career day for receiver Davante Adams.

The Packers offense has been one of the NFL’s best this season thanks to a resurgence from quarterback Aaron Rodgers. As usual, Adams has been Rodgers’ favorite target this season, hauling in 36 catches for 449 yards and four touchdowns in the process.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see Adams go off against Minnesota on Sunday. In their first meeting in Week 1, Adams recorded 14 receptions for 156 yards and two touchdowns against the Vikings’ young secondary. Yet, the Vikes could be in for an even bigger punishment from Adams on Sunday.

Not only is Adams coming off his best game of the year last week against the Texans but the matchup before him is exceptionally favorable.

Davante Adams should have no problem against a banged-up Vikings secondary.

As of Thursday, the Vikings’ top three cornerbacks were listed on the injury report. Cameron Dantzler (COVID/reserve), Holton Hill (foot) and Mike Hughes (neck) all did not practice on Thursday. If none of them can go on Sunday, Adams and the rest of Green Bay’s receivers would face a string of backups at cornerback.

It’s also worth noting that Adams has a recent history of success against Minnesota. In his last three games against the Vikings, Adams has reeled in 34 catches for 378 yards and two touchdowns.

Adams tied the Packers’ single-game franchise record for receptions (14) in the team’s season-opener and had 13 receptions last week against Houston. It wouldn’t be shocking to see Adams catch 15 passes on Sunday, setting a new record for most receptions in a game. All indications are that Adams should have a dominant performance on Sunday.
