1. Derek Carr outperforms Baker Mayfield

Last week, both quarterbacks came near 300 yards passing against their opponents. Baker Mayfield had 297 to Derek Carr’s 284. One escaped with a victory and the other came away with a defeat. However, to not look at the competition that each quarterback was facing would be unrealistic.

Furthermore, though Cleveland is playing at home, Mayfield has shown that he struggles against teams outside of Cincinnati. Carr, meanwhile, has shown the ability to go head to head with some of the best quarterbacks in the league, though he hasn’t been the best passer.

When both quarterbacks collide on Sunday, both are looking to prove that they are the best leader for the team. However, they both have tremendous running games. Given that the Raiders will likely force Cleveland to throw the ball, Mayfield may put up bigger numbers.

However, that is a trap that Vegas is hoping Cleveland falls into as Carr can take advantage of those missed opportunities and turn it into points. In other words, Mayfield’s mistakes will lead to Carr out-performing him by the end of the game.
