FanDuel NFL picks and lineup advice for Week 8 DFS fantasy football.

Welcome back to another week of FanDuel NFL DFS fantasy football advice. In Week 7 we saw one of the highest-scoring weeks of the year, with players like Tyler Lockett and Davante Adams putting up tournament-winning weeks and providing those who played them in cash formats almost a guaranteed win. We also saw monster performances from some rookie quarterbacks, with Justin Herbert and Joe Burrow finishing as the QB1 and QB4 on the week, respectively.

Looking forward to Week 8, the Houston Texans, Washington Football Team, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Arizona Cardinals are all on bye. In addition, the Cowboys, Eagles, Bucs, and Giants all play in prime time and will therefore not be available for the Sunday main slate. With most of the historically bad NFC East leaving room for other teams in the main slate, positions are unusually deep this week.

When talking about players I will reference the salaries and salary cap of a typical FanDuel tournament. I will also show a complete lineup, which consists of nine positions: QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, FLEX, DEF. The players referenced will all be from the main Sunday game slate. Note that the strategy you choose to adopt should change based on the type of formats you enter.

Without further ado, here are FanDuel NFL DFS picks for Week 8 of the 2020 season.

FanDuel NFL Week 8 Picks and Advice: Quarterback

All of the top quarterbacks are available in the main slate this week with the exception of Kyler Murray. However, besides Aaron Rodgers ($8,400), who is a great play, I am fading all of the high-end quarterbacks this week. This is not to say that they will not have solid games, but either their upside is limited in a tough matchup in the case of Lamar Jackson ($8,300) and Russell Wilson ($8,700) or the game-script is not on their side, which is the case of Patrick Mahomes ($9,200).

If you choose not to go with Rodgers, there are still plenty of mid-range quarterbacks with top-five potential. My favorites are easily Joe Burrow ($7,600) and Ryan Tannehill ($7,500) in the same game. With an over-under of 53.5, there should be plenty of points for two quarterbacks who are in the top 12 at the position on the year.

If you want to dig even deeper, Kirk Cousins ($7,100) and Jimmy Garoppolo ($6,600) are both solid punt options. Cousins should be playing from behind in a shootout, something that has led to plenty of garbage time fantasy points this year. Garoppolo gets a great matchup in a game against Seattle with the highest over-under of the week and has no business being priced below players like Tua Tagovailoa ($6,800) making his NFL debut against the Rams.

As mentioned above, I am avoiding all high-end quarterbacks except Aaron Rodgers. I am also fading Drew Brees ($7,600) against Chicago, as he is more like backend QB2 this week but is priced as a top seven option. Finally, I will still not be making any lineups with Cam Newton ($7,400) despite his cheap price tag and the rushing upside he possesses, as the Patriots appear to be in a downward spiral and have shown they are not afraid to pull Cam if he is underperforming.
