FanDuel NFL Week 8 Picks and Advice: Tight End

Every top tight end is available this week, though with the extremely high over-under and Jamaal Adams missing practice, George Kittle ($7,700) is looking like the strongest play of them all. Jonnu Smith ($6,100) is coming off two bad weeks but one was due to injury and he has a fantastic matchup against Cincinnati, who is the third-worst in the league against opposing tight ends.

Noah Fant ($5700) also has top-five upside if he is back at full health but he looked hobbled despite being healthy in Week 7. As for those wanting to punt the tight end position, David Njoku ($5,000) and Harrison Bryant ($5,000) both have high touchdown upside in a shootout without Odell Beckham Jr. in the mix.

I am fading Mark Andrews ($7,000), as he has been an extremely touchdown-dependent tight end this year and has a tough matchup against Pittsburgh. Even though T.J. Hockenson ($6,000) is the TE7 on the year, he is only 17th in targets and will not see the volume to provide any upside in a tough matchup against Indianapolis.

Kansas City ($5,000) is in the same position as Buffalo was last week, although they are a much stronger defense and should easily keep the Jets under 10 points. If you are spending up on defense, go with Kansas City, if not avoid most of the mid-range options and go with some of the cheaper options this week.

Los Angeles ($4,300) against Denver is a great matchup play, though the Chargers defense has allowed almost 26 points per game. The best value of any defense this week is easily New Orleans ($3,600) against Chicago, as even though their defense has been weak, Chicago merely lacks the offensive talent and play-calling to not commit a few turnovers.

This lineup is extremely running back-heavy and is therefore reliant on strong performances from all of them. This lineup has a strong mix of superstar talents such as Derrick Henry and more risky plays such as Nelson Agholor and Diontae Johnson In Johnson’s case, there is always the possibility he exits with an injury early on as he has two games this year.

However, if these receivers can cash in with high yardage games or some lucky touchdowns, Aaron Rodgers, Derrick Henry, and Kareem Hunt have enough guaranteed production to lead to an extremely high scoring week.
