Green Bay Packers: 5 Bold predictions for Week 8 vs. Vikings
Green Bay Packers bold predictions for a Week 8 meeting with the rival Vikings.
Anyone who thought the Green Bay Packers were fraudulent after a loss to Tampa looked silly as they came off the bye and dismantled Houston. Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams were in lock-step while the defense was a shutdown unit against a good offense. Now that leads the Packers feeling themselves as they welcome the Vikings to Lambeau Field in Week 8.
Minnesota has endured a much different season than Green Bay. They started the year with a loss to the Packers at home and have only won a single game since then. Sitting at 1-5, this team gets Dalvin Cook back on Sunday but that may not be enough to solve all of the issues that they’ve been dealing with on both sides of the ball.
So will the Packers divert from their return to dominance as they face an NFC North rival? My bet would be that’s not the case. With that, let’s make five bold predictions for the Green Bay Packers in Week 8 against the rival Vikings at Lambeau.
5. Alexander picks off Cousins twice
For anyone who was hoping that Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander was going to have a huge 2020 season, the season-opener against Minnesota was a good indication of that. The young Louisville product not only had a sack on the day but he registered the only interception in the game as well.
Since that game, Alexander has done nothing but thrive. As many in Green Bay have expected and/or known, he’s established himself as one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. And at the same time, the struggles of Kirk Cousins haven’t subsided.
You know what’s not a good recipe for a quarterback who’s experiencing problems? Playing in windy conditions — and that’s exactly what’s in store for Week 8. Cousins is not only going to have to combat his own issues but the weather as well. And Alexander is likely licking his chops thinking about that.
Expect the Packers to get pressure on Cousins when he does drop back and the secondary to be ready to pound. Alexander will make the most of his chances and end his season series against Minnesota with three total interceptions.
