Green Bay Packers: 5 Bold predictions for Week 8 vs. Vikings
1. Green Bay Packers sweep Vikings, win by 20+
As mentioned, the Packers dominated the Week 1 meeting between these two NFC North rivals, which was really a sign of things to come for both teams this season. But while that may be so, the final score didn’t necessarily reflect the one-sided nature of that game or the discrepancy between the two clubs.
In the end, it was only a nine-point win for Green Bay. But things have swung even more decisively in favor of Rodgers’ club since that moment. Not only have he and his team gotten a dose of motivation after falling to Tampa Bay but Minnesota has been getting banged up on both sides of the ball, giving the Vikes a lesser line of defense against one of the best teams in the NFC.
Given the state of things and the fact that the Week 8 meeting will take place at Lambeau Field, I don’t give the Vikings much of a chance of winning this one. Green Bay should sweep the season series without breaking much of a sweat. But in the interest of being bold, it also wouldn’t blow me away if the Packers won by three touchdowns or more.
Even without Aaron Jones on the field, the Packers offense is clicking on all cylinders. Furthermore, Rodgers and Adams are thriving and the defense is back to full health and rolling at a solid level. This should be an overall suffocating effort at home for Green Bay, one that sends a clear message to their divisional peers.
