DraftKings NFL Week 8 values: Defense/Special Teams

Finally, we come to the afterthought of most DFS lineups: the DST (Defense/Special Teams) position. There are two kinds of people: those who pay up for the Kansas City Chiefs (KC vs. NYJ, $4,500), and those who stack their lineups at other positions and settle for the cheapest possible defense.

We tend to side with the latter, but we just can’t stomach the New York Jets (NYJ at KC, $2,000), certainly not against Patrick Mahomes and company. If you must scrape the bottom of the barrel, please have some standards and pay an extra $200 for the Minnesota Vikings (MIN at GB, $2,200), who shouldn’t be gouged as horribly as usual, thanks to unruly weather conditions.

Stiff winds and potential rains also allow us to consider the Cleveland Browns (CLE vs. LV, $2,600), Chicago Bears (CHI vs. NO, $2,800), and Las Vegas Raiders (LV at CLE, $2,900) when we otherwise wouldn’t.

If we had to choose from the rest, we’d opt for the Los Angeles Chargers (LAC at DEN, $4,000) against a struggling Drew Lock, or the Los Angeles Rams (LAR at MIA, $3,800), who look to spoil Tua Tagovailoa’s debut as an NFL starter.

Other high-floor options include the New Orleans Saints (NO at CHI, $3,400), who face a Bears team that will be without Allen Robinson, the Buffalo Bills (BUF vs. NE, $3,300), who pay the struggling Cam Newton a visit, and the Tennessee Titans (TEN at CIN, $3,000), who’ll attempt to entice Burrow into making a few rookie mistakes.
