Studs and duds for the Minnesota Vikings from a shocking upset over Green Bay.

The Minnesota Vikings entered Week 8 of the 2020 NFL season coming off of a bye week while taking on a tough divisional opponent on the road on Sunday afternoon.

The Vikings, who came into the game losers of two straight, hit the road to face off against NFC North rival in the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in Week 8, a game Minnesota wanted to steal to end the losing streak and get the second win of the year.

The Vikings surprised many and did just that on the road, pulling out an impressive 28-22 win on Sunday afternoon.

To open up the game, Minnesota and Green Bay traded shots offensively in the first half to be deadlocked at halftime in Green Bay. The Packers got on the board first with a touchdown in the first quarter, only to have the Vikings answer back to bring the game to 7-7 after one frame. The same occurred in the second quarter with the two teams going into halftime knotted up at 14-14.

In the second half, Minnesota kept the momentum going from the first half while opening the second half with 14 unanswered points in the third quarter to take a 14-point lead. The Vikings held strong late and limited the Packers to eight points the rest of the way to grab a nice road win in Week 8.

With the win, Minnesota grabs its second road win of the season and improves to 2-5 overall on the year. In the loss, Green Bay drops to 5-2 overall on the season while falling at home for the first time of the year.

The Vikings return to the field in Week 9 when they come back home to Minnesota to host another NFC North opponent in the Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon at US Bank Stadium. The Packers get back to action in Week 9 when they battle the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday Night Football in San Francisco.

With the showdown between two rivals now over with and Minnesota and Green Bay wrapping up the second of two contests against each other this season, let’s go back and pick out some studs and duds for the Vikings in the game.
