Stud: Pulling out a huge road win

The Vikings were coming fresh off of a brutal loss to the struggling Atlanta Falcons in Week 6 in Minneapolis, with a lot of questions coming about as to what direction this team is headed moving forward.

Minnesota answered those questions coming out of its bye week in Week 7 by hitting the road and putting on a solid performance against Green Bay at Lambeau Field.

The Vikings still have their work cut out for them and they have a decent amount to work on for the remainder of this season, but it was nice to see them respond in the way they did in Week 8.

Dud: Giving up large chunk plays on defense

Oftentimes when facing an Aaron Rodgers-led team, you have to try and focus on the large chunk plays that the veteran quarterback and the rest of the offense are capable of putting together throughout the course of a game.

On Sunday in Green Bay, the Packers did that often in an attempt to pull out a comeback victory on their home field and the Vikings weren’t really able to do much in limiting those efforts.

As far as large chunk plays, we saw those take place for Green Bay mainly through the air in the passing game, with seven different Packers receivers tallying receptions around 15 yards or more. Robert Tonyan had the longest reception of the game for Green Bay, that being a 45-yard catch.

Minnesota has some work to do to fill some holes on the back end of the defense to try and fix this weakness moving forward.
