1. Los Angeles Rams vs. Miami Dolphins

For the past season and a half, the Miami Dolphins haven’t been the source of much excitement. But that changes on Sunday as rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa makes his debut in NFL Week 8. And with him coming in, a new era in South Beach starts.

We’ve seen only two garbage-time passing attempts from Tagovailoa at the pro level, it should be said. However, he was a star at Alabama. He was one of the most accurate quarterbacks in college football history and put up unreal numbers prior to his hip injury. Now healthy, his first start in the league is going to draw plenty of eyes.

Unfortunately for Tua, his first matchup in the league comes against a Los Angeles Rams team that’s competing for an NFC West title in a bounce-back year. The offense has turned things around on offense after a down year. But in a matchup with Tagovailoa, the key is a defense that has been playing quite well this season.

Between game-wrecking defensive tackle Aaron Donald, a unit around him that creates pressure and playmakers like Jalen Ramsey in the secondary, this unit will put some heat on Tua to make something happen. Subsequently, the Rams will likely win — but even then, seeing Tagovailoa’s first start will be well worth tuning in for.
