Tennessee Titans (5-2) – NFL Contenders

The Tennessee Titans have slipped up the past two weeks, but this team is still very talented. Their first loss of the season came against the Steelers who have shown they’re not a fluke and while their loss to the Bengals is a bit perplexing, every team has that kind of loss at one point or another.

The Titans made it all the way to the AFC Championship Game a season ago on the back of Derrick Henry and that’s how they’re going to get there again this season. Their defense isn’t what it was last year, but Henry is still playing at a high level and Ryan Tannehill is playing better than he was a season ago as well.

If Henry continues to be the battering ram that we all know he’s capable of being, the Titans will certainly be right in the thick of things come late January.

Indianapolis Colts (5-2) – NFL Pretenders

Despite holding the same record as their AFC South foes, the Indianapolis Colts aren’t a team that can realistically contend for a Super Bowl this year. Their defense is great and one of the best in the league, but Philip Rivers is too inconsistent at this stage of his career.

Rivers has had two nice games in a row, but the long time Charger is still turnover prone, throwing six picks through his first seven games as a Colt. Indy faces Tennessee twice in the next four weeks and those two games will determine who wins the AFC South and who will be playing on the road to start the playoffs.
