Minnesota Vikings: 3 Bold predictions for Week 9 vs. Lions
1. Vikings win second straight and first game at home
The final prediction that will take place by the end of the game for Minnesota is that the Vikings will be able to come away with the win over another NFC North opponent in Week 9.
With the win at home, Minnesota will extend its winning streak to two in a row while improving to 3-5 overall on the season. More importantly, the Vikings will finally be able to get the first home win of the 2020 campaign.
Although Minnesota would still be two games under .500 after the game, the Vikings could very well play themselves back into the playoff conversation given their favorable schedule coming up over the next few weeks. That’s something that was hard to imagine being a possibility for Minnesota just a few weeks ago after falling to 1-5 overall leading into the bye week in Week 7.
After the Week 9 game against Detroit, the Vikings will host the Dallas Cowboys in Week 11, the Carolina Panthers in Week 12 and the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 13, hitting the road to play in their lone road game during that span in Week 10 contest against Chicago.
With those set of winnable games for Minnesota, it could be sitting right around the .500 mark on the year going into Week 14 and could try and make a late-season push towards a potential postseason berth.
Before that can take place, the Vikings will have to take care of business this Sunday at home against the Lions. But it’s a game Minnesota should be able to win to grab the third victory of the year and the first at home in 2020.
