2021 NFL Mock Draft: Patriots grab Zach Wilson, Bears roll with Kyle Trask
Is Aidan Hutchinson out of Michigan a top-20 prospect? Probably not. But he’s close and we know that Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock love to get the Las Vegas Raiders players who fit their mold. The Wolverine is that, playing with power and the ability to not only rush the passer but stop the run. He’s not going to wow with athleticism but his power and arsenal of moves at his age off the edge make him a player that just feels right in this iteration of the silver and black.
Mitchell Trubisky wasn’t the answer (obviously) and Nick Foles isn’t either (becoming more obvious with each passing week). The Chicago Bears need a quarterback they can count on before there’s any kind of rebuild elsewhere.
There were questions if Kyle Trask was a one-year wonder that the SEC would figure out but he’s shined so far for the Florida Gators. He’ll need to keep doing so, especially in the rivalry game with Georgia, but his overall upside and prowess could at least give the Bears some hope under center.
In all honesty, I don’t know what to do with the Philadelphia Eagles roster. They’re going to win the NFC East but that really doesn’t mean much. Carson Wentz has to be better and the group of weapons still raises questions. But the team, to me more importantly, needs to keep adding to the secondary. Shaun Wade is versatile with the size of an outside corner and slot experience. His movability is valuable to the Eagles as they need a chess piece on the back end.
Linebacker continues to be a problem area for the Cleveland Browns, something that many thought they should’ve already addressed prior to now. They right that wrong in this 2021 NFL mock draft with Notre Dame’s Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah.
Extremely athletic and capable of both crashing down and moving sideline-to-sideline while also being effective in coverage, Owusu-Koramoah is the all-around type of presence that Cleveland simply has been lacking for quite a while.
