Atlanta Falcons studs and duds from another midseason win in Week 9.

The Atlanta Falcons headed into Week 9 as they returned home after a Week 8 win over the Carolina Panthers on Thursday Night Football to host the Denver Broncos in Week 9 of the season on Sunday afternoon.

Atlanta was able to remain in the win column at the end of the contest, jumping out to an early lead at home while holding off a late-game comeback by Denver to snag a victory.

In the game, the Falcons jumped out in front early and didn’t let up on that lead for the rest of the game, notching 10 unanswered points in the first quarter and extending that lead to 20-3 going into halftime in Atlanta.

Over the final two quarters to round out the rest of the game, the Falcons nearly let up a 17-point advantage but were able to end up doing so against the Broncos. Denver outscored Atlanta 24-14 in the second half, but the Falcons did just enough to escape with a seven-point home win.

With the victory, the Falcons improved to 3-6 overall on the year and secured their first win at home this season, also having now won two games in a row and three of their last four matchups. In the loss, Denver drops to 3-5 overall and are now 2-2 on the road here in 2020.

Atlanta returns to the field in Week 11 when it has a tough test on the road against the New Orleans Saints in New Orleans. The Falcons will have their bye week in Week 10 of the year next weekend. Denver gets back to action in Week 9 when it remains on the road to face the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday evening in Las Vegas.

With the Week 9 contest now in the books, let’s take a look back at some studs and duds from the Falcons in the win over the Broncos.
