DraftKings Week 9 Values: Defense/Special Teams
No one needs to be advised to start the Pittsburgh Steelers (PIT at DAL, $4,900) defense in DFS formats under any circumstances. However, we implore you to consider the possibilities this week, despite the sky-high price: the Dallas Cowboys, whose offense is in complete disarray, have generously donated 26 percent more points to opposing fantasy defenses than any other team over the last four weeks.
While there are better bargains to be had, we don’t hate the Washington Football Team (WAS vs. NYG, $3,400) this week. Even though the Giants offense has shown signs of life recently, their pass rush should yield several sacks while forcing Daniel Jones into making multiple turnovers.
Best Bet: The Houston Texans (HOU at JAX, $3,100) face off against a Jacksonville Jaguars offense that has ranked in the bottom third in terms of points coughed up to opposing defenses, and that’s without 6th round rookie Jake Luton under center. We expect the Texans to outperform their price point by a fair margin this week.
Bargain Bin Values: The Arizona Cardinals (ARI vs. MIA, $2,900) have notched three or more sacks in all but one game so far this season, so we expect them to tee off on Tua Tagovialoa in his second NFL start. We also wouldn’t mind the Minnesota Vikings (MIN vs. DET, $2,400) if Chase Daniel is forced to start in place of Matthew Stafford, and has no Kenny Golladay to work with.
