Buffalo Bills: 6 Studs in dominant Week 9 win over Seahawks
By Tayyib Abu
Mario Addison, DE
Mario Addison had a strong game. The big lineman led the charge upfront for the Buffalo Bills defense. He sacked Wilson, made tackles and set the edge to keep Seattle’s ground game in check. It is so important for this Buffalo defense to contain the running game as it then puts their secondary in favorable situations with third and long.
This was vital to this win as there were countless times where Seattle was in third and long, and then the Bills defense can really put the clamps on the offense. Addison is a run clogging, pass-rushing player who is stocky and stout. He demonstrated an elite ability to control the line of scrimmage and pressure Wilson. It was a vital performance from the veteran and it came at the right time.
A.J. Klein, LB
A.J. Klein was another of the Buffalo Bills’ linebacker group that shone today. Klein played like a man possessed today. With five tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery, Klein was a force on Sunday. He isn’t the every-down linebacker Edmunds is but he is terrific as a physical pass-rushing presence.
His positive attributes were highlighted in a big way today as he showed great ability to time his get off and race to the quarterback. Wilson’s thunderous hit, which resulted in a fumble recovery for Klein, underlined his day, and he had an elite game. With Matt Milano and Micah Hyde having battled injuries this year, Klein will need to do more of this.
Even in a specific role, Klein demonstrated ample ability to be a major contributor for the Buffalo Bills defense.
