2021 NFL Draft riser No. 3: Kyle Trask, QB, Florida

Could you even call this a great list without a quarterback being featured? After all, they are the guys who touch the ball on every offensive snap. The top quarterback prospects are locked into their positions led by Trevor Lawrence, Justin Fields and Trey Lance. The question is, who’s next? Look no further than the Florida Gators quarterback Kyle Trask.

What stands out about Trask is his prototypical size. He has a solid frame with a listed height and weight of 6-5, 240 pounds. However, he’s not an experienced signal-caller. 2019 was the first time Trask started a game dating back to his high school days.

In his debut season, he completed over 66 percent of his passes, 25 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Like any promising prospect, he’s shown growth in the 2020 season.

Through five games, he completed 68.7 percent of his passes with 22 touchdowns to just three interceptions. He’s shown the ability to look off defenders and redirect the secondary with his eyes when working off RPO. He has a clean high release with velocity to his throws.

While he doesn’t run often, he offers enough athleticism and power to be effective in the run game. With his upside and tools, he’s a solid Day 2 prospect for a team looking for a young quarterback to sit behind a vet. But with the position he plays, don’t be surprised if he ends up being a Day 1 selection.
