New England Patriots studs and duds from a narrow win over the Jets in Week 9.

A win is a win, but man, the New England Patriots made things more interesting than they needed to be on Monday Night Football in Week 9. New England came into the game looking to end a four-game losing streak while facing off against a struggling AFC East opponent on the road on the national stage.

The Patriots took on the winless New York Jets on Monday night in Week 9, a game many viewed would be a blowout victory for Cam Newton, Bill Belichick and company on the side of New England.

By the end of the contest, New England had a tough time coming away with a victory and was forced to pull away late and complete a late-game comeback, ultimately still being able to take down New York in the final seconds 30-27 on Monday Night Football.

In the game, the Jets got off to a surprising lead early in the contest and looked much different than the team we have seen to start the year to this point. New York fell behind New England 7-3 after one quarter, but the Jets rattled off 17 second-quarter points and held the Patriots to just a field goal to carry a 20-10 advantage into halftime.

With New England down 10 at the break, that meant it would have to put together a strong comeback in the final half to come away with the road victory. After the Patriots and Jets both recorded seven points in the third quarter, New England was able to tally 13 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to pull away with the three-point win.

With the victory, the Patriots improved to 3-5 on the season and grabbed their first road win of the 2020 campaign. Along with that, New England’s losing streak finally comes to an end while it avoids losing the fifth straight contest for the first time since 1995. In the loss, the Jets dropped to 0-9 on the year, which is actually good news for New York fans in hopes of landing the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.

With the game now over with, let’s dive into some studs and duds that appeared in the game for the Patriots in Week 9 against the Jets.
