AFC Playoff Picture No. 4 seed: Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts currently sit at 6-3 and are tied with the Tennessee Titans in the AFC South, though they hold the head to head tiebreaker. With the offseason acquisition of pieces like DeForest Buckner and Philip Rivers, it was clear the Colts were going all-in for 2020. So far, things have been panning out nicely, with their only real disaster being losing to the 1-7 Jaguars in Week 1.

For the most part, their offense has been middle of the pack, averaging 26 points per game, but their defense has been stellar, only giving up 20 points per game, the third-best in the league. They are also the best in yards allowed, giving up 290 per game. Their defense has also been incredibly consistent, holding opponents to under 30 points in all but one game, an incredible feat with the rate of scoring in today’s game.

Their rest of season schedule is not easy, though it is very similar to that of the Tennessee Titans’,  their main opponent. They both have to play the Texans, Jaguars, Packers and one of the top AFC North teams.

A commanding 34-17 victory over the Titans in Week 10 brought the Colts to the top of the AFC South, though in all likelihood their Week 12 rematch will prove to be their most important game of the season. If the Colts can best the Titans for a second time and lock down the tiebreaker, the division should be theirs.
