AFC Playoff Picture No. 3 seed: Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills are currently 7-2 and sit atop the AFC East with a 1.5 game lead over the Miami Dolphins. After a tough loss in the Wild Card round in 2019, the Bills look to be the division leaders for years to come with Tom Brady out of the division. A large part of their success can be attributed to Josh Allen, who has been silencing critics with an MVP-caliber season.

With 2,587 passing yards and 19 touchdowns, he has almost matched his 2019 numbers of 3,089 yards and 20 touchdowns. More importantly, he is completing passes at a 10 percent higher rate: 68.9 percent vs. 58.8 percent in 2019.

Surprisingly, their defense has been their weakness this year. After only allowing 16.5 points per game in 2019, they are now a below-average defense allowing 25.9 points per game.

The rest of the season for the Bills is tough, as the combined record of their remaining opponents is 30-27. Most of their future opponents with lower records should still be tough games, like the Chargers, 49ers, and Patriots are three of the stronger teams with records under .500.

Regardless, the Bills should be safe with their 1.5 game lead and, if Josh Allen continues playing at the level he has been playing at, they will be a matchup other teams will want to avoid come January.
