2. Denver Broncos (+4.5) at Las Vegas Raiders

The Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders are two teams that appear to be headed in different directions this year. Denver is 3-5 and seems to be losing key contributors to injured reserve every week while Las Vegas is on the path to the playoffs for the first time in four years.

At the heart of Denver’s problems has been the struggles of young quarterback Drew Lock who has been one of the least accurate passers in the NFL this season. He has been in and out of the lineup with a shoulder injury which could be contributing to his issues and lost top weapon Courtland Sutton early in the season. For Las Vegas, their offense has been on fire this season but their defense is very leaky and that is where the upset potential comes in.

Denver is a team that does not excel at any one thing but they are good enough in a number of areas and have players on both sides of the ball that can make big plays. If the Raiders are not able to establish the run against a solid Denver defense then their deep ball offense becomes less effective and opens the door for the Broncos’ run game to control the clock.

If Denver is to win this game they will need to win the turnover battle and harass Derek Carr and with all the injuries on Las Vegas’s offensive line they just may be able to do that. This is also a divisional game so records matter even less than usual.
