NFL Week 10: 4 Underdogs that could win this week
1. Los Angeles Chargers (+2.5) at Miami Dolphins
This a fascinating matchup between two rookie QBs whose careers may be tied together for as long as both are in the NFL. Tua Tagovailoa and Justin Herbert were drafted back to back in the 2020 NFL Draft and with both in the AFC they should be facing each other quite regularly over the next decade or so.
This year the Chargers are 2-6 but with better luck and some better decision making at the end of games from the coaching staff and Herbert they could be 4-4 or even 5-3. Their inability to close games is a big red flag for this team but the fact that they held big leads over quality teams like Tampa Bay and New Orleans means the potential for a winner is there.
The Miami Dolphins have been one of the surprises of the season and Tagovailoa looked fantastic in his second start against Arizona last week. His job is made much easier with a top-five defense on the other side of the ball but he was a major contributor in their Week 9 win over the Cardinals.
The Dolphins winning this game is the much more likely scenario but the Chargers have difference-makers on both sides of the ball like Keenan Allen, Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram who can swing the tide of a game. If the Chargers are able to harass Tagovailoa all game long and keep Herbert upright then there is a solid chance LA can win this game.
