Green Bay Packers bold predictions for a Week 10 meeting with the Jaguars.

The Green Bay Packers earned a measure of revenge last week as they went on the road to San Francisco for Thursday Night Football and dominated a 49ers club that embarrassed them twice a year ago. Granted, the Niners were ripped to the studs by injuries and COVID-19 (the Packers had issues with the virus as well) but Green Bay showed up with an impressive win as Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams continued to look like two of the best in the league at their positions.

Having 10 days of rest in the books, they’ll be back at Lambeau Field on Sunday in NFL Week 10 as they host a Jacksonville Jaguars team that’s just 1-7 on the year. While this could be a letdown spot, the Packers are in a tight race atop the NFC. Subsequently, they not only need to win at home but need to get all the juices flowing to help make a statement.

With the need to get momentum on their side to start the second half of the season after a 6-2 start, let’s make five bold predictions for the Green Bay Packers in Week 10 against the Jaguars.

5. Jones returns to form with 125 total yards

After missing two games, Aaron Jones returned to the field last week against the 49ers to modest results (15 carries, 58 yards, five receptions, 21 yards). However, he was questionable still leading up to the game and, with Green Bay short at running back due to COVID-19, he may not have been 100 percent.

With 10 days rest now, though, Jones should be good to go and we should see a lot of him. The Packers should be able to mount a lead against this Jaguars defense and Jones will help ice it with a strong performance. By day’s end, he’ll be nearing 100 yards rushing with plenty of solid work in the passing game as well.

4. Green Bay Packers defense picks off Luton thrice

Sunday will be the second career start for Jaguars rookie quarterback Jake Luton. His career got off to a hot beginning with a bomb to D.J. Chark for a touchdown last week but he cooled off thereafter. While Luton isn’t untalented and even with an injury to Jaire Alexander, the Packers will feast on the rookie.

Green Bay should be able to consistently pressure Luton, who isn’t particularly mobile moving around outside the pocket. That will force some bad decisions — especially if the Jags are playing from behind — and the Packers will take advantage as they’ll force three interceptions on the day.

3. Robinson lights up the Packers defense, though

The big area of concern for Green Bay right now is their run defense. When their offense is clicking, it’s less of an issue but, in tight games or early in contests, they are susceptible to getting beat on the ground. And with the way undrafted rookie James Robinson has played this year, that could be the Jags best chance at success.

While I don’t believe Jacksonville will mount a total offensive attack, Robinson will be the one player the Packers struggle to stop on Sunday. He’ll top the 100-yard rushing mark on the day while also adding at least 40 receiving yards to his total, going toe-to-toe with Jones’ output.

2. Rodgers, Adams connect for 3 TDs

As the Green Bay Packers shellacked the 49ers last week, the Rodgers-Adams connection remained quite unstoppable. While the quarterback threw for over 300 yards with four scores, Adams stepped up again with 10 catches for 173 yards and a touchdown.

In his last three games, Adams has 30 receptions for 422 yards and six touchdowns. He’s been the best wide receiver in the NFL and, with some injuries among Green Bay pass-catchers and no one to match up with Adams, that will continue as Rodgers will find his top target for three trips to the end zone.

1. Chalk up a 20+ point win for the Green Bay Packers

This Week 10 matchup opened with a 13.5-point spread and, given the Packers issues against the run, I was dubious at first. But when you consider the potency of this offense against this Jacksonville defense, it’s going to be a blowout at Lambeau.

Not only do the Jaguars not have an answer for anything the Packers want to do on offense but Luton hasn’t proven capable of leading a comeback through the air, which will likely be necessary. As Green Bay aims to move to 7-2, they’ll do so in convincing fashion on Sunday.
