Standouts from the New York Giants’ impressive win over the Eagles in Week 10.

The New York Giants firmly put themselves in the NFC East hunt. A home game against a division rival was must-win territory for Big Blue. The Giants did just that as New York played a highly impressive game in all three phases in Week 10.

Everything clicked for the Giants on Sunday and this victory has hauled them back into contention to win the division. Joe Judge’s team has been competitive all season long and now New York has their highlight win of the season.

Though the offense lacks superstar talent, offensive coordinator Jason Garrett called a great game and made full use of the talent he has available to him. Defensively, the Giants attacked Carson Wentz behind a makeshift offensive line, making him uncomfortable.

It was a vital victory for the New York Giants. Judge is in his rookie year as a head coach and, while no one is expecting the Giants to win the Super Bowl, there had to tangible progress. This win underlines the fact New York is moving in the right direction. With that, let’s look at the standout performers for Big Blue in the victory.

New York Giants standout No. 6: Daniel Jones, QB

Daniel Jones was superb in Week 10. He demonstrated great passing and rushing ability with terrific execution. Turnovers have blighted his young career but he looked after the ball and kept moving the Giants methodically down the field.

Jones threw for 244 yards while he continued to be a threat with his legs. Jones is an underestimated runner; he is a big man with a sharp turn of speed and that makes him difficult to tackle. We saw this on his touchdown run. He showed great pace to take the ball into the end zone. Jones also showed a gritty, physical approach to running and displayed no fear of getting hit and taking tackles.

The young quarterback was excellent and has found the blueprint to success. Nobody is asking him to be playing at an MVP level; Giants fans want him to manage the game and not turn the ball over. He did that on Sunday and Big Blue took a superlative win.

New York Giants standout No. 5: Darius Slayton, WR

Darius Slayton starred for the Giants. The speedy wideout added a different element to this offense as he offered a great option on intermediate and deep routes for Jones. Five receptions for 93 yards headlined his day as he stretched the field vertically. Even when he wasn’t targeted, the defense was wary of him. It created space for the offense underneath and gave Jones even more options.

There was a highlight-reel catch on the sideline which helped the offense get a new set of downs. Slayton played like a No. 1 wideout. He was consistently lining up on the outside and matching up with the Eagles’ best corners. Slayton passed the test; he has a superb ability to concentrate on the ball, he’s a clean route runner and he’s making himself available.
