2020 NFL Power Rankings, Week 11: Patriots stun Ravens, Cardinals win on Hail Murray
By Randy Gurzi
The Arizona Cardinals had the best comeback win of the weekend, as well as the play of the week. Trailing by a score of 23-9, the Cardinals scored 17 points in the final six minutes of the third quarter, which gave them the lead in the fourth. Then, the two teams went the entire fourth quarter without scoring, until Buffalo found the end zone with 34 seconds to go.
That score came courtesy of Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs, who connected on a 21-yard touchdown pass to cap off a 12-play, 78-yard drive. Allen and the Bills offense went to the sideline thinking they had the win and the Cards defense went to theirs thinking they lost the game. But the Arizona offense wasn’t ready to give up.
Kyler Murray went to work and his Andy Isabella for 14 yards and then found DeAndre Hopkins and Larry Fitzgerald each for nine yards on back-to-back plays. They called timeouts immediately after each of those plays and then had time for one last Hail Mary — or should we say “Hail Murray” — from the 43-yard line.
Arizona’s quarterback rolled out and allowed his receivers to get downfield before heaving the ball to Deandre Hopkins, who was in the middle of three defenders but found a way to rip the ball out of the air. It was a reminder that he’s one of the best wideouts in the game and that the Cardinals absolutely stole him from Houston. Not only that, but Arizona is now in a three-way tie for first place with the Rams and Seahawks and, thanks to the divisional record, they have the tiebreaker.
