These five NFL teams should make throwback uniforms permanent staples like the Dolphins.

During NFL Week 10, the Miami Dolphins decided to throw it back as they were in their old-school uniforms as they took on the Los Angeles Chargers. And for fans, there was even better news as rumors circulated that Miami is considering making these their normal threads once again.

While I personally like the new Dolphins uniforms, the general consensus among fans is that they never should have ditched their original look — and it’s hard to argue against it since they are so iconic.

The idea of them returning to their roots brings to the forefront some other clubs that should do the same thing. Here, we look at five NFL franchises that should go back to their throwbacks as the permanent uniform.

5. Denver Broncos

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, a lot of teams made major changes to their uniforms and had a similar look. It was the gaudy striped uniform with plenty of shoulder accents. One team to go for this style was the Denver Broncos, and they shouldn’t have.

Denver didn’t go as crazy as teams such as the Buffalo Bills or Minnesota Vikings, but like those teams who went back to the basics, they should try and clean things up. And it’s hard to argue that the uniforms they wore during the days of John Elway aren’t a thing of beauty.

It was easy to overlook the uniforms when Elway first wore them and won two Super Bowls. The same was true when Peyton Manning turned their offense into a powerhouse, but now that their play isn’t as pretty, the uniforms are standing out as what they are — dated.
