5 NFL teams that should make throwback uniforms permanent

2. New England Patriots
Like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the New England Patriots just recently changed their uniforms. And like the Buccaneers, they didn’t get it right and we have to wait a few years for them to do what they should have in 2020.
If we are being honest, there’s really not a whole lot wrong with what the Patriots did — well, unless you consider stealing an XFL team’s uniform as wrong — but it just wasn’t what the fans wanted. Fans around the league were hopeful that the Patriots would have ditched their current color scheme and returned to the days of their bright red, white, and blue uniforms with the white helmet.
This was a color scheme that they wore from their inception as the Boston Patriots in 1960 until the 1993 season when they made a drastic change. That season, they ditched ‘Pat Patriot” on the helmet and went with a ‘Flying Elvis’ look. The helmet wasn’t awful but the jersey was. They went with something that looked like it belonged in the defunct USFL with giant highlights around the color and a huge logo on each shoulder.
Since then, they have cleaned things up and their current look is much cleaner. But having ‘Pat Patriot’ snap the ball on their helmet again would be a wise move. They lost one icon when Tom Brady went to Tampa Bay. Responding by bringing back another icon in ‘Pat Patriot’ is the only logical move.
