Bold predictions for the New Orleans Saints with Jameis Winston leading against the Falcons.

After two weeks of good luck, it seems as though the New Orleans Saints have fallen on bad fortune again. Solid games against the Buccaneers and 49ers put the Saints in a good place. Now things are back to going downhill as they’ll forge forward without Drew Brees for some time. ESPN reported Brees sustained fractured ribs along with a collapsed lung, resulting in him being out for an undetermined period of time.

Considering how tough the Saints’ upcoming schedule is, it’s frustrating to see the team be without one of their biggest playmakers. However, it doesn’t mean it’s time to give up on them, though. If last year showed us anything, it’s that the Saints will rally around each other and play at their best when facing adversity. Now it’s likely they’ll turn to Jameis Winston to lead the charge.

Either way, it’s not time to give up on the Saints just yet. If anything, a matchup against the Falcons could prove to be their saving grace. Ultimately, Week 11 has huge implications for the Saints and their future. So let’s make three bold predictions for the New Orleans Saints against Atlanta.

New Orleans Saints bold prediction No. 3: Thomas has a big day

If there’s one player who can help save the New Orleans Saints, it’s wide receiver Michael Thomas. He had an incredible year in 2019 and, despite his injuries, could still have a big effect on 2020. Thomas is talented enough as a player to still produce big numbers with a new quarterback. These last two weeks have felt like a fluke and it’s finally time for him to break out.

Against the Falcons, Thomas should have a huge day with at least 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He has yet to put up such big numbers this season but it’s finally time. Pairing him up with Winston could prove to be a blessing in disguise. If you look at Winston’s connection with Mike Evans in Tampa, he could have something similar to Thomas.

If the two can forge a quick connection before they hit the field, then there’s no reason why Thomas won’t have a day against the Falcons.

New Orleans Saints bold prediction No. 2: Gardner-Johnson makes a big play

C.J. Gardner-Johnson had an incredible game against the 49ers. He finished the game with his first career sack and six tackles. It was an incredible breakout game for him and a performance that bears repeating. Looking ahead at the matchup against the Falcons, CGJ should put up another solid performance and continue to earn his stripes as a member of the Saints defense.

Against the Falcons, Gardner-Johnson will be the deciding factor on defense. It could be a sack, a tackle or possibly an interception. Either way, it seems like CGJ is finally tapping into his potential and the Falcons could be in trouble.

New Orleans Saints bold prediction No. 1: Jameis gets the win as the starter

Jameis Winston came in for Brees last week but obviously didn’t play the entire game. Even though we have yet to find out who will officially be replacing Brees, it’s more than likely Winston will. If the team goes with Hill, it’ll be a major surprise.

However, Winston has proven himself more than capable as he was the franchise quarterback for the Bucs for years and it’s special as Winston will be facing off with the Falcons, which isn’t something new for him.

Winston has faced off against the Falcons many times while in Tampa. Simply put, having Winston lead the team is the better choice and the team would be unwise to go with Hill. As long as this prediction comes true, then the Saints should still be among the best teams in the NFL.
