Bold predictions for Packers vs. Colts in the marquee matchup of Week 11.

There’s no question that, from Thursday to Monday, the Week 11 slate of NFL action is loaded. But for the Sunday games during the day, there’s no better matchup than the 7-2 Green Bay Packers traveling to Lucas Oil Stadium to take on the 6-3 Indianapolis Colts. Not only are these two division-leaders and surefire playoff teams but they create a fascinating matchup.

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers won 13 games last season but everyone expected them to regress. Instead, the offense has looked even more dangerous as the quarterback is playing at an MVP level, thanks in large part to a superstar season from Davante Adams. However, they come against a defense that has led the way for their opponents on Sunday.

While the arrival of veteran Philip Rivers was expected to jumpstart the Colts offense, that side of the ball has largely been pedestrian. Indianapolis’ defense, on the other hand, has been one of the best units in the league. It’ll be fascinating to see how they ready to take on this Green Bay attack and, just as importantly, how the offense plans to match it.

For such a phenomenal game, we have to dive into the matchup and make five bold predictions for the Packers vs. Colts clash in Week 11.

5. Colts hold Jones under 40 yards rushing

After Aaron Jones returned in Week 9 to a tricky situation on Thursday Night Football and was pedestrian, many Packers fans (and DFS players) expected the Green Bay running back to have a big outing a week ago against Jacksonville. Instead, he struggled as he had only 13 carries for 46 yards, though he did add 49 yards receiving to salvage an overall solid day.

Having said that, Jones has not been good on the ground in the last three games that we’ve seen him. On 38 carries over those contests, Jones has put up only 119 yards, good for only 3.13 yards per carry. Yet, the Packers want to run the ball, so he’ll keep getting work.

That, however, will be a problem against this Colts defense. They’ve been solid in every facet this season but their run defense has been stifling. Indianapolis ranks fourth in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game, conceding only 91.8 per contest. That spells bad news for Jones on Sunday in Week 11.

Knowing that Green Bay wants to set the tone with Jones, Darius Leonard and the Indy defense will be ready for it and will keep his struggles going. Even if he gets double-digit carries again, Jones won’t crack the 40-yard mark in Week 11.
