3. Taylor finds his footing again with 100-yard day

When the Colts landed running back Jonathan Taylor in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, fans were salivating at what the Wisconsin product could bring to the table. And he’s undoubtedly flashed this season, especially from Weeks 2-6 when he had at least 12 carries and 57 yards in every game, including a 101-yard outing against Minnesota.

Over the past three games out of the bye week, though, Taylor has seen his role diminish greatly in the offense. He has just 24 carries over that span and, as such, has struggled to get anything going, managing just 61 yards combined over those three contests. That’s about to change against Green Bay, though.

Despite the recent breakout of Nyheim Hines, Indianapolis has not stayed committed to just one back from week-to-week all season. Moreover, the Packers are a susceptible run defense that struggles against traditional runners that are in the mold of Taylor, players who can beat up teams in the box.

This is going to be the return of Taylor to the forefront of the Colts offense. He’s been out of the picture in a shocking way lately but, with the matchup at hand, Frank Reich and the Indianapolis coaching staff will realize the opportunity they have to let the rookie cook and carry the offense in a big way.
