Entering Week 11 of the 2020 NFL season going through a bit of a hot streak, the New England Patriots were aiming to continue their winning ways on Sunday afternoon on the road against an AFC opponent.
New England, riding a two-game winning streak coming into the week, hit the road to face the Houston Texans on Sunday in Houston, a game the Patriots were favored in going into the contest.
In the game, however, New England saw its win streak come to a close while falling to Houston 27-20 at NRG Stadium.
In the game, both teams tallied seven points early to remain tied at 7-7 after the first quarter. The second quarter was the separator for Houston, as it outscored New England 14-3 in that quarter alone to take a 21-10 lead into halftime.
In the second half, the Patriots were able to bounce back to some extent in the third quarter behind outscoring the Texans 7-3 in that frame but weren’t able to climb back into the game in the fourth quarter to fall on the road.
With the win, Houston improves to 3-7 overall on the season and gets has now won two of its last three games. In the loss, New England saw its two-game winning streak come to a close while dropping to 4-6 overall on the year.
The Patriots will get back to action in Week 12 when they return home to host the Arizona Cardinals in Foxborough. The Texans will return to the field on Thanksgiving when they travel to face the Detroit Lions in Detroit.
