NFL Power Rankings 2020, Week 12: Chiefs claim No. 1 spot, Packers drop again
For the entirety of the 2020 season, NFL fans have been legitimately worried about the health and safety of Joe Burrow behind the Cincinnati Bengals. And on Sunday, the worst fears came to fruition as an awkward hit resulting from heavy pressure left Burrow down on the field for a long while before he had to be carted off the field.
Not only did Burrow tweet out a message thanking fans for their support that concluded with “See ya next year”, but reports after the game stated that the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 draft suffered a torn ACL and will be out for the year. He will also undergo an MRI this week to determine any other damage to the knee that he suffered.
This is devastating for the Bengals as Burrow was the bright spot for a bad team. He was on pace to set a number of rookie passing records and was simply a joy to watch. Without him, Cincinnati is now a team with even less chance of winning and with fewer reasons to watch play.
In the wake of the Burrow injury, they fell to Washington, 20-9, putting the Bengals at just 2-7-1 on the year.
