Los Angeles Rams Director of College Scouting Brad Holmes

Among the names that ESPN’s Adam Schefter listed on the names of finalists and candidates for the Atlanta Falcons vacant general manager position is current Los Angeles Rams director of college scouting, Brad Holmes.

The primary duty of Holmes within the Rams organization is leading the efforts towards scouting potential players that would be incoming into the NFL and his track record has been impressive throughout his time in Los Angeles thus far.

The Rams have had some strong drafts as of late, which speaks to the efforts the scouting department has put together leading into the drafts on an annual basis.

Holmes’ name is probably one of the more least-well known among the list of potential candidates to lead the Falcons’ front office efforts and could be considered an underdog to ultimately be hired for the job, but he is obviously good at evaluating players and talent and that should be enough to at least consider him for the job as Atlanta continues to look forward to 2021 and beyond.

One of the more important aspects to the general manager position is evaluating talent, both incoming and current players, to fill in holes and needs throughout any given roster on a team. Holmes certainly has the ability to do just that.

Another intriguing aspect to Holmes is he currently lives in Atlanta, according to Schefter, and has the support of many within the Rams organization.

He might have an outside shot at landing the open general manager spot, but Holmes is another name to watch to take things over in Atlanta.
