Who deserves to win NFL Coach of the Year in 2020 after 11 weeks?
The 2020 NFL season hasn’t been easy for anyone. The COVID-19 pandemic made an incredibly tough job as an NFL head coach even more difficult.
But some coaches have persevered and showed that they have what it takes to lead a team in the NFL. They’ve found success in spite of unprecedented circumstances and have already guided the way to several new wins.
Here are five coaches who deserve to be in consideration for the 2020 Coach of the Year award.
Being a head coach in the NFC West is no easy feat, as it’s by far the toughest division in all of football. Kliff Kingsbury has done well in only his second year at the helm though and while a lot of people will heap praise onto quarterback Kyler Murray, Kingsbury deserves his fair share of the praise as well.
Kingsbury wasn’t a popular hire when the Cardinals made the decision to bring him on as their next head coach. He was always leading Texas Tech to “average” seasons and people didn’t think he’d be the right fit for the Cardinals.
Instead, just two years in, and Kingsbury has the Cardinals as legitimate playoff contenders. The team isn’t perfect obviously, but to join an atrocious 2018 Arizona team and turn them around in just two years is impressive. If the Cardinals do indeed make the playoffs (which barring an epic collapse, they would be at least a Wild Card team), Kingsbury deserves to be a candidate for Coach of the Year.
