FanDuel NFL picks and lineup advice for Week 12 DFS fantasy football.

Welcome back to another week of FanDuel DFS advice. Week 12 figures to be one of the most challenging DFS weeks yet for fantasy football, as there are no teams on bye. This means that there will be more options and harder decisions to make when it comes time to finalize your lineup. Luckily, this also means that if you do your research and know what you are doing, you will be able to take advantage of casual DFS players more than usual.

Looking at the Week 12 main slate, players from the Washington Football Team, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, Detroit Lions, Seattle Seahawks, Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers will all be unavailable this week. In addition, the Baltimore vs. Pittsburgh game is also off the main slate after a rescheduling to Tuesday.

When talking about players I will reference the salaries and salary cap of a typical FanDuel tournament. I will also show a complete lineup, which consists of nine positions: QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, FLEX, DEF. The players referenced will all be from the main Sunday game slate. Note that your individual strategy should change based on the type of formats you enter, and I will reference strong plays in cash and tournament formats.

Without further ado, here are my FanDuel NFL DFS picks for Week 12 of the 2020 season!

FanDuel NFL Week 12 Picks and Advice: Quarterback

With the exception of Russell Wilson and Deshaun Watson, you pretty much have your pick at the top quarterbacks this week. Patrick Mahomes ($9,000) is the premier play this week against a Tampa Bay defense that has been struggling in recent weeks.

In a projected high scoring matchup between the Bills and the Chargers, I like the quarterbacks on both sides. In cash formats, I would definitely lean toward Justin Herbert ($8,400) over Josh Allen ($8,600) as he has provided much more consistency throughout the year.

The only other quarterback I would consider for cash is Matt Ryan ($7,600) if Julio Jones is active. If Jones misses, Ryan provides too low of a floor to trust, even in a plus matchup against Las Vegas.

There are plenty of nice punt plays this week as well. Taysom Hill ($7,300) and Derek Carr ($7,100) both are coming off strong performances with plus matchups. Finally, Teddy Bridgewater ($7,000) has been a QB1 on the year and is a great cheap option against a weak Minnesota secondary.

As for quarterbacks I am avoiding, Kyler Murray ($9,100) with a shoulder injury as the most expensive quarterback on the slate is too rich for my blood. Though he is still an option in tournaments, I would much rather have Mahomes in my cash game lineups. The same goes for quarterbacks Tom Brady ($7,900) and Ryan Tannehill ($7,500) who both have the talent to put up big games, but the matchups that make them too risky of a play for cash.
