Dallas Cowboys. 29. team. 123. . . Previous: 26th

Just when it looked as though the Dallas Cowboys turned a corner, they reminded us all they’re a dumpster fire. Dallas somehow defeated the Minnesota Vikings in Week 11, which gave them some hope heading into their Thanksgiving Day game against the Washington Football Team. They even had a chance at first place if they could pull off a win, which is a testament to how bad the NFC East really is.

They did have a chance for much of the game, but after surrendering 21 points in the fourth quarter, the game ended up being a blowout. Dallas lost 41-16 and they hardly managed to move the ball at all in the second half as they completely lost control of this one.

What was most concerning was some of the poor play-calling that continued to surface. Mike McCarthy came in touting his newfound love of analytics, but it seems his idea of what analytics is would be simply doing the opposite of what Jason Garrett did in Dallas. McCarthy continues to gamble on fourth down at the most inopportune time and had another terrible fake punt call that gave up points. After the game, he defended his decision but it might have been best to admit he messed up and move on.

Long-term, this could be the best thing for them. Dallas isn’t doing anything with Andy Dalton under center and every win just messes up their draft stock. So, as painful as it is to watch, fans just need to keep an eye on the offseason.
