Why the New York Giants can win the NFC East: They’re currently leading it!

After the Eagles fell to Seattle on Monday night, the New York Giants sit in first place of the NFC East with a 4-7 record. They hold the tiebreaker over Washington, which put them in the top spot. Crazy, right?

The Giants have gotten to this point without their best offensive player, Saquon Barkley, and with Daniel Jones throwing more interceptions (nine) than touchdowns (eight) through the first 11 games. Even with Jones turning the ball over frequently, he’s been a good running quarterback and the Giants will take a hit with him likely missing time due to a hamstring injury.

New York hasn’t been a great team this season, but they went toe-to-toe with the Tom Brady-led Buccaneers and are currently 3-2 against the division. They’ll play the Cowboys in the final week of the season and if they win that game, they’ll finish with a winning record in the division.

It’s crazy to think that the 4-7 Giants team without Barkley and potentially without Jones could win the division, but here we are. 2020 has been weird.
