FanDuel NFL picks and lineup advice for Week 13 DFS fantasy football.

Welcome back to another week of FanDuel DFS advice. Week 12 was one of the most hectic weeks of DFS yet, with plenty of last second injuries and COVID list adds to take advantage of. Week 12 also taught me two things. First, play a Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill stack in a tournament each and every week, regardless of Kansas City’s matchup.

Second, you need to be constantly checking and adjusting your lineups up until game time. Those of you who set your lineup on Friday night or Saturday morning and forget about it until Sunday need to be ready to adjust your lineup according to COVID list adds and injury reports, as anything can happen in 2020.

I know, personally, I removed Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas from every single one of my lineups and played a fair bit of Latavius Murray with the announcement the Broncos would not be fielding an NFL quarterback, which worked out quite well.

Looking ahead to Week 13, the Tampa Bay Buccanneers and Carolina Panthers are on bye. We also have four games in primetime due to some game shifts in Week 12, including Tuesday Night Football. This means fantasy football-relevant teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens will all be unavailable for the main slate.

When talking about players I will reference the salaries and salary cap of a typical FanDuel tournament. I will also show a complete lineup, which consists of nine positions: QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, FLEX, DEF. The players referenced will all be from the main Sunday game slate. Note that your individual strategy should change based on the type of formats you enter, and I will reference strong plays in cash and tournament formats.

Without further ado, here are my FanDuel NFL DFS picks for Week 13 of the 2020 season!

FanDuel NFL Week 13 Picks and Advice: Quarterback

At the quarterback position, Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson are all unavailable on the main slate. This still leaves you with plenty of strong options, with Russell Wilson ($9,000) against the New York Giants being the premier pick. However, many of the top quarterbacks this week have pretty tough matchups and I think you can actually get away with playing a cheaper quarterback in cash formats this week.

Of the most expensive quarterbacks, Aaron Rodgers ($8,500) is my personal favorite, as he showed his ability to destroy a strong defense in Week 12, throwing for four touchdowns against a strong Chicago secondary. Ryan Tannehill ($7,800) is an extremely safe cash play against a weak Cleveland secondary, though his upside for tournaments is certainly capped by Derrick Henry.

I also think Kirk Cousins ($7,300) is a safe enough play for cash formats, as he has managed multiple passing touchdowns in all but three games this year and gets an extremely favorable matchup against Jacksonville. If you want to get different in a tournament, Mitchell Trubisky ($6,900) has always had the Lions number and could certainly put up a QB1 performance in Week 13, though there is no way you could trust him in a cash lineup.

As for quarterbacks I am avoiding, I am once again scared by Kyler Murray ($8,700), as he looked clearly affected by his shoulder injury in Week 12. In Week 13 he gets a brutal matchup against Los Angeles, and while he can always put up a top-five week, I will likely be fading him outside of tournaments.

I am also not a fan of Deshaun Watson ($8,200) with the recent loss of Will Fuller V. In his one game without Fuller this season Watson only managed 15.7 fantasy points. It does not help he has to face a brutal Indianapolis defense.
