FanDuel NFL picks, Week 13: Best DFS fantasy football lineup
FanDuel NFL Week 13 Picks and Advice: Tight End
With no Travis Kelce on the slate this week, I would highly recommend punting the position. Even though Darren Waller ($7,000) is the TE2 on the season behind Kelce, Kelce is still averaging 50 percent more fantasy points per game. I would much rather avoid this inconsistency and spend up elsewhere while punting the position.
The best punts this week are Jordan Akins ($5,200), who could very well slot in as Deshaun Watson’s second target with the departure of Will Fuller. Anthony Firkser ($4,600) is my favorite punt of the week, as he figures to see a heavy workload with the injury to Jonnu Smith and has an extremely favorable matchup against Cleveland.
With nice punt options like these, I really would not advise spending up for any of the more expensive tight ends, though if you have money left for Waller, he is in a smash spot against a Jets defense allowing the most points to opposing tight ends.
FanDuel NFL Week 13 Picks and Advice: D/ST
This week I think there are actually plenty of strong options that can save you some cash while providing you a strong defense. Chicago ($4,200) is a standout play against a Detroit offense that looks to be without Golladay and possibly Swift. Green Bay ($4,100) is not as elite of a defense but gets to face a Philadelphia offense that is underperforming in every possible way.
I am also a fan of the Los Angeles Chargers ($3,900), who should be involved in a low scoring affair that should yield a few turnovers from Cam Newton. Finally, I recommended the Jets ($3,300) last week and they came through and they are a fine punt play this week against a Raiders team without Josh Jacobs.
FanDuel NFL Week 12 Lineup
- QB Aaron Rodgers – $8,500
- RB Derrick Henry – $10,000
- RB Nick Chubb – $8,700
- WR Allen Robinson II – $6,900
- WR Michael Pittman Jr. – $5,600
- WR Nelson Agholor – $5,400
- TE Anthony Firkser – $4,600
- FLEX Austin Ekeler – $7,000
- D/ST New York Jets – $3,300
This lineup is extremely running back heavy, with two of the three most expensive running backs in this lineup. However, punting the defense and tight end allows us to play a top-five quarterback as well as an elite wide receiver.
While the WR2 and WR3 are not pretty, they do not have to do much to return their value, and if they can just give us 10 or so points each the running backs will do enough work to cash out. If you want to reduce risk a bit, consider replacing Henry or Chubb with Devontae Booker and swap out one of the risky receivers for someone like Adam Thielen or A.J. Brown.
