2021 NFL Mock Draft: Falcons bet on Zach Wilson, Bears tab Trey Lance right after
By Randy Gurzi
Wow, the Chicago Bears quarterbacks are bad. Following an injury suffered by Nick Foles, they turned things back over to Mitch Trubisky and the former No. 2 overall pick had a chance to win the team over once again. That didn’t happen though, as he was arguably worse than before being benched — which makes it evident that the Bears have to move on.
Enter Trey Lance from North Dakota State who hasn’t faced elite competition but has still shown more than enough to prove he can be the guy. Lance has thrown just one pick in his career, which came in his only game of the 2020 season. In 2019, he had 2,786 yards with a 28-to-0 touchdown-to-interception ratio and added 1,110 yards and 14 more touchdowns. Chicago’s defense has to be tired of carrying the load and Lance’s addition should put an end to that.
We need to take a moment and give Terry McLaurin some love. Drafted in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, McLaurin has been a complete stud for the Washington Football Team. What he needs, however, is a second target to take some of the pressure off of him. That’s where Devonta Smith comes in.
Smith had 1,074 yards and 12 touchdowns in just eight games this season after going for 1,256 and 14 the prior season. He’s slide into the No. 1 role with ease and should be a great addition to a suddenly improving Washington team.
