Even with a quarterback change, the Philadelphia Eagles cannot find ways to win
Every week, the Philadelphia Eagles continue to make commentators and fans devour cheesesteaks in misery, their latest coming from the cheese up north. In their 30-16 loss to Green Bay, Philadelphia allowed Carson Wentz to increase his sack total to 50 on the year before choosing to insert Jalen Hurts in the fourth quarter to no avail.
The Eagles are now 3-8-1, though somehow not out of the NFC East race — yet falling decidedly behind. Not that it would matter come postseason time given the state of this team.
At this point, though, it would be better for Philadelphia to have a higher draft pick and rebuild the team in hopes of achieving a dream that was accomplished just three seasons ago. Now, that night in Minneapolis seems like a distant memory.
Defensively, there was no containing Aaron Rodgers. But how can you contain a player if the pressure is virtually nonexistent outside of the first drive of the game. ? You could ask defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz but his answer will likely focus on the lack of depth on the roster.
The Philadelphia Eagles continue to be a shell of their former selves
Any player who has worn the uniform of the Eagles is likely pulling down their beanie caps to hide their tears as this season is a far cry from what is expected from those who don the green and silver. Additionally, there is no question fans are not happy.
The blame must go up to the front office; the poor drafting along with questionable spending has transformed from a genius philosophy to a below-average idea.
Who else should receive the blame than general manager Howie Roseman? While his latest selections in Jalen Reagor and Jalen Hurts nearly brought Philadelphia back in the game, the substance players were ignored and, thus, the Eagles stand where they are.
This season has been downright depressing for the city of Brotherly Love. With no fans to boo in the stands, the broadcast booth has filled the role quite nicely. If they want the cheers, the Eagles must make better decisions to fly else, the ground will be their permanent spot.
