Patriots rise, Eagles fall in our NFL Power Rankings entering Week 14.
The 2020 NFL season is continuing to fly by as we are preparing for Week 14. With that being the case, the playoff picture is starting to come clear with some clubs starting to make it clear they will be in the tournament this season. One such team is the Cleveland Browns, who scored a huge win over the Tennessee Titans to secure their first winning season since 2007. Also, at 9-3, they are close to punching their ticket to the dance.
Of course, other teams are right on the brink — such as the New England Patriots. The Cam Newton-led franchise looked out of the mix not too long ago as they were 2-4 with the world caving in on them. With their latest win, they’re now 6-6 and could still make a run for the postseason.
Some other clubs are heading in the exact opposite direction, like the Philadelphia Eagles. A club that appeared to be a contender when the season kicked off, the Eagles are now 3-8-1 and have a legit quarterback controversy on their hand after benching Carson Wentz for Jalen Hurts in their loss to the Packers this weekend.
Those games, and many others, have altered our Week 14 edition of the 2020 NFL Power Rankings. But one thing that hasn’t changed, is who comes in at No. 32.
NFL Power Rankings after the Week 13 action
This was almost a terrible week for the New York Jets. They entered the weekend with a record of 0-11 which had them in firm control of the No. 1 overall pick. Then, they almost beat the Las Vegas Raiders which could have ruined it all.
New York had their best game of the season with Sam Darnold throwing two touchdowns and running another. They also saw Ty Johnson break out with 104 yards rushing and a touchdown. His score came with five and a half minutes to go, and it put the Jets on top 28-24 — and it appeared it would stay that way.
That was until Derek Carr hit Henry Ruggs from 46 yards out with no time on the clock. The walk-off win was huge for the Raiders but if we are being honest, it was better for New York as well. The only question is whether or not it’s better for Trevor Lawrence, who some have suggested doesn’t want anything to do with the Jets.
Maybe his mind will change in the offseason once they have a new coach and start to make some much-needed changes.
