Detroit Lions. 22. team. 50. . . Previous: 28th

Matt Patricia is out and the Detroit Lions win. Coincidence? I think not.

The Lions moved on from Patricia who proved time and time again that he wasn’t cut out for the job. Like many of the Bill Belichick disciples, he came into his new team with the championship arrogance as if everything that happened in New England was because of him. As we all know, it wasn’t and that kind of demanding and overly-tough approach doesn’t work when you’re not winning.

With him out, Darrell Bevell was the interim and the team seemed loose under him. He was also quick to point out that while it was a crazy week, he was happy with his players.

"“”My emotions right now, I can’t even think straight,”” Bevell said via ESPN. “I’m just trying to wrap my head around this whole thing on what just happened.”"

He then added:

"“It was a crazy, amazing week. I just couldn’t be happier with how they did today.”"

Detroit moved to 5-7 with the win and the Bears also are 5-7. So not only did they get the win but they helped to ensure a divisional rival continues to trend in the wrong direction. That counts for something, right?
